South Kingstown, RI. The Wakefield Concert Band, formerly the Wakefield Civic Band, raised more than $4,000 to benefit South County Hospital at a concert held on January 25, 2009.

During the 2010 Summer Concert Series at Marina Park, the Wakefield Concert Band raised more than 2,500 pounds of food through cash and nonperishable food donations for Jonnycake Center, Peace Dale, RI. The Band is a member of The 1 of 52 Hunger Network, a grassroots initiative working to eliminate hunger in every community throughout the U.S.
